Merry Christmas Everyone! Get on those stockings hung and presents wrapped because Santa will be here before you know it! But before all of that, lets do a little celebrating! The UMC Spousal Alliance Annual Kid's Christmas Party is sure to be a blast! Please bring some plain sugar cookies ready to be decorated by your little chefs and a snack to share with everyone else. Also, don't forget your Christmas wish lists because rumor has that Good Ole' Saint Nick himself is going to stop by! We will also be collecting gifts this year. Please bring an unwrapped gift to be donated to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital. We look forward to seeing you there!

Halloween Party!

The party will be at the Student Union at UMC ... here are some things to remember....
-we will be collecting canned foods for the local food panrty
- bring one pag of candy per family
- bring a goodie bag for your child to collect their treats
- make sure to dress up your little kiddos!

A note from our faithful president, Julie Ogles!

Hey Girls,
I went to Easely Amused (www.easelyamused.com and click on the "Classes" tab) on Thursday night and it was so much fun! It is a painting studio where you are the artist! You start with a blank canvas and end up with a really cool painting to put up in your home. The instructor walks you through each step and she firmly instructs you to "Turn in your Type-A Personalities at the door & just have fun!" You do not have to be an artist or even consider yourself "artsy" to do this. Check out their website for more information and to see what paintings they are currently offering. So, for Girls Night Out for November we thought it would be really fun to go and do this as a group. We can rent out the studio for just us on November 5th. Also, we can either select a painting that she has displayed on the website or she can design something specifically for us to do! Smith and I talked about maybe doing some type of holiday/Christmas/winter painting since it will be close to the holidays. If that doesn't sound good, we can do something else. Let me know if you have any specific ideas. The reason I am sending this out so early is because we have to let them know by the 1st week of October if we want the space reserved otherwise we can't get it all to ourselves. If we have 20 people sign up it will be $30 per person. If we have more than that, obviously the cost will go down. If we don't have at least 20 it might be to costly to do. So if you are interested in participating, please let me know. I'll let y'all know what our head count is by the middle of next week. **Also, for those of you still on the fence......you can BYOB and enjoy that while you paint! : ) Maybe that will help get some of those "creative juices" flowing! It really is a blast and you have a really neat painting to take home at the end of the night. I hope y'all will come!!! See you soon!

Cookbook Fundraiser

MSMAA Alliance is selling cookbooks as a fundraiser. They gave Julie Ogles a box of them in case some of you may be interested in purchasing one. They have great recipes in them & make great gifts! Girls Night out- October

Girls NIght Out for October will be on Thursday, October 1st at Walker's in Fondren. That night is the "Fondren After 5" deal so people can walk around before or after. The MSMAA is hosting a Baby Shower & Welcome Party for all alliance members on Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30pm.The Mississippi State Medical Association Alliance (MSMAA) is a volunteer organization composed of physicians and spouses of physicians, resident-physicians and medical students. The mission of the MSMAA is to be a strong support system for medical families, to be a patient-physician advocacy organization which helps preserve the best health care in the world, to help members and patients be better informed about today’s health care environment and to give county Alliances a focus, empowerment, and a stronger voice in legislation and community activities.They provide dinner and it gives us a chance to meet the "Adult Alliance" members. They are a great group of people and Sondra Pinson, their President, really wants to be involved and connected with our Alliance. The MSMAA is sponsoring our New Member Dinner this year and we are so thankful for that. All Alliance families are invited. It is going to be held at the UMC Student Union Building on campus. They are going to have gifts to give out to everyone. So, again, EVERYONE is invited. If you have had a baby in the past year, it is for you, if you are a member of the Alliance and haven't had a baby, it is for you too! They want us all to come. I need to give her a head count about 1 week before the 9th so please let me know if you can come.

A Couple Reminders!

Just a reminder... Girls Night In is NEXT Thursday ( the 9th) at Julie Ogles house. Check facebook for the address. Remember to check here every few days just in case there are any changes. Events will always be listed here, on the blog and on our facebook page ( in the right hand column).
If you have not paid your $35 dues, you may bring them to us then. Also, if there are ever any questions, don't hesitate to ask! If you still want an Alliance shirt, they will be $10 dollars and we have several extra so bring your money if you want one! ( and bring you $10 dollars if you have already reserved one!) Family Picnic at the park!

Hi all! Since we had to cancel our Pump it Up night due to not enough people, we are putting together a picnic!

On this Thursday, June 4th we will be heading over to Trustmark Park in Pearl to watch the Mississippi Braves in action! We will sit in the outfield so that those with children can let them run around and play... you may want to bring a blanket and chairs.
