A note from our faithful president, Julie Ogles!

Hey Girls,
I went to Easely Amused (www.easelyamused.com and click on the "Classes" tab) on Thursday night and it was so much fun! It is a painting studio where you are the artist! You start with a blank canvas and end up with a really cool painting to put up in your home. The instructor walks you through each step and she firmly instructs you to "Turn in your Type-A Personalities at the door & just have fun!" You do not have to be an artist or even consider yourself "artsy" to do this. Check out their website for more information and to see what paintings they are currently offering. So, for Girls Night Out for November we thought it would be really fun to go and do this as a group. We can rent out the studio for just us on November 5th. Also, we can either select a painting that she has displayed on the website or she can design something specifically for us to do! Smith and I talked about maybe doing some type of holiday/Christmas/winter painting since it will be close to the holidays. If that doesn't sound good, we can do something else. Let me know if you have any specific ideas. The reason I am sending this out so early is because we have to let them know by the 1st week of October if we want the space reserved otherwise we can't get it all to ourselves. If we have 20 people sign up it will be $30 per person. If we have more than that, obviously the cost will go down. If we don't have at least 20 it might be to costly to do. So if you are interested in participating, please let me know. I'll let y'all know what our head count is by the middle of next week. **Also, for those of you still on the fence......you can BYOB and enjoy that while you paint! : ) Maybe that will help get some of those "creative juices" flowing! It really is a blast and you have a really neat painting to take home at the end of the night. I hope y'all will come!!! See you soon!

Sept. 24th Playgroup...

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Just a reminder that the evening playdate is this Thursday at Pump It Up. We will meet at 6:15. The cost is $3 per child. If you are writing a check please make it out to the UMC Alliance.
Since we are having a playdate this Thursday we will not meet Friday.
Hope everybody can make it on Thursday, September 24th.

Cookbook Fundraiser

MSMAA Alliance is selling cookbooks as a fundraiser. They gave Julie Ogles a box of them in case some of you may be interested in purchasing one. They have great recipes in them & make great gifts! The cookbooks are $16.00 each and $9.00 of that is tax deductible. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing one and Julie can get it to you. jjogles@yahoo.com

Girls Night out- October

Girls NIght Out for October will be on Thursday, October 1st at Walker's in Fondren. That night is the "Fondren After 5" deal so people can walk around before or after. Further details are coming about this but mark your calendars! Please RSVP on the UMC Residents and Fellows Spousal Alliance Facebook page...that is a mouthful! Hope you can join us!
